The entire TORAH deals with the firstborns, but later God took the Levites instead of the firstborns, but why?
As Jesus on the cross was about to yield His spirit to the Father the temple veil was ripped, opening the way to the inner chamber of the Holy of Holies into which only a high priest once a year could enter with the blood of atonement.
Thus Jesus signified that He was not only the Son of God, the Firstborn, the Lamb, but also the High Priest.
