PERFECTION

perfect[Psalms 139:6-12] Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it. [7] Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? [8] If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there. [9] If I take the wings of the dawn, if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea, [10] Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me. [11] If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me, and the light around me will be night, [12] even the darkness is not dark to You, and the night is as bright as the day. Darkness and light are alike to You.

When God confronted Job he also said similar words.

[Job 42:3] “Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge? Therefore I have declared that which I did not understand, things too wonderful for me, which I did not know.”

Job finally repents by saying (6) “Therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes.”

ATTAINMENT

David said, “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain to it.” This imaginary inability is very present, almost paralyzing our imagination. Ignorance is not God’s fault but ours. There are also blocks and hindrances we have created for ourselves, which prevent the liberating knowledge of the truth and its penetrating power to do the job.

Jesus said, [Matthew 5:48] “You are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect (τέλειός TELEIOS).” Does He lie? Is it impossible? Or we are missing something? Perfection is not found in matter, but the spirit realm of which we know very little. It is His type of perfection and with Him we must concur. The moment I have agreed with His thoughts and His own ways my quest had begun. Today I know things, which when expressed I would only get myself into trouble with most. No one believes in what one does not know, but what about if you do know? But one does not believe that you know… So for their sake I brood in abstract.

[John 5:40-42] “You are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life. [41] I do not receive glory from men; [42] but I know you, that you do not have the love of God in yourselves.” Dissect these words now and realize that those people made up their own doctrinal and theological monuments to their own glory, which prevented them from seeing the light of truth. ([44] How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and you do not seek the glory that is from the one and only God?.) This was their stumbling block. They were unwilling to come to Jesus in the same way many are unwilling to come to me and hear the straight, powerful and liberating truth. To have life is to see the truth in its full scope and its bright light. What obscures this light is the man-made mix of things; often conceited theological clutter in which so many take pride. For this reason in another place it is written:

[Acts 28:25-27] “The Holy Spirit rightly spoke through Isaiah the prophet to your fathers, [26] saying,
‘GO TO THIS PEOPLE AND SAY,
“YOU WILL KEEP ON HEARING, BUT WILL NOT UNDERSTAND;
AND YOU WILL KEEP ON SEEING, BUT WILL NOT PERCEIVE;
[27] FOR THE HEART OF THIS PEOPLE HAS BECOME DULL,
AND WITH THEIR EARS THEY SCARCELY HEAR,
AND THEY HAVE CLOSED THEIR EYES;
OTHERWISE THEY MIGHT SEE WITH THEIR EYES,
AND HEAR WITH THEIR EARS,
AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART AND RETURN,
AND I WOULD HEAL THEM.”’

God is perfect, to which He did not have to attain. The One without beginning and no end does not attain, but we, His offspring; can and even must attain if we want to see God.

Uncluttered, free mind, heart and soul is pure, [Matthew 5:8] “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

There are teachers and there are teachers, not all have the liberating and potent power of the truth.

[Ephesians 4:11-13] And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, [12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ; [13] until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to PERFECTION (Greek τέλειον TELEION) a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ.

  1. I think about the words : “…AND UNDERSTAND WITH THEIR HEART…” What does it mean to”understand with the heart”?
